About Tony Petersen

At the age of 6, Tony Petersen began his kart racing career in March, 2006. Tony had ridden electric and gas-powered ATV’s since he was 1, so adapting to a kart involved growing accustomed to a steering wheel instead of handlebars, and foot-pedals instead of hand-controls. Once this was accomplished, he competed at New Castle Motor sports Park and Whiteland Raceway Park in the Kid Kart class during the 2006 racing season. During that first season, Tony competed in over 25 events and became a member of the JD Byrider Kart Racing Team.

In 2007 and 2008, Tony continued in the Kid Kart class at both venues. Since 9 year-olds move to the Junior Sportsman class, in 2009 Tony moved up and competed in Jr. Sportsman and Jr. Sportsman Novice classes at NCMP aboard his Margay chassis powered by a Comet-Tuned Yamaha.

After competing in over 120 races, Tony moves into his 6th year of racing in 2011. He will concentrate on the Kart Racers of America series at NCMP, and select WKA and local club races as time allows.

When Tony's not at the track he enjoys following a varitey of sports but has a passion for  football. He has taken up Tae Kwon and has earned his green belt with black stripe and working towards his blue belt. He enjoys hunting and fishing and has mastered his Genesis compound bow.

Tony is currently a 6th grader in Brownsburg, In. Tony holds a 3.76 GPA while attending honor classes in language arts and social studies. He elects to participate in special arts classes (choir and robotics).  To contact Tony click on the e-mail link below.
